The Erlangen Graduate School in Advanced Optical Technologies (SAOT) has been established within the excellence initiative of the German federal and state governments in November 2006 at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg to promote science and research at German universities. The SAOT offers a structured educational programme for doctoral candidates across the faculties.
