PanDao determines the optimal fabrication chain and its cost during the design phase, thereby helping to find the optimal supplier with the required manufacturing technologies.
There is a major, well-known problem in the optical industry: the interface between optical design and subsequent manufacturing is still mainly based on human to human contact.
This is exactly where the newly developed, data-supported software tool PanDao comes in: During the design phase, PanDao determines the optimal production chain and its costs and thus helps to find the optimal supplier with the necessary production technologies.
As a result, optical designs can be optimized and compared for minimal costs and risks, and the influence of design parameters on producibility and manufacturing costs is investigated.
After a short introduction, a live demonstration of PanDao will show how different optical designs can be optimized and compared for producibility.
